Ce qui aide à reconnaître la démarche

healthy school campaign guided writing

education students teacher classroom

use of prompts four-line paragraph

Besoin d’un point de départ ? Voir la méthode

1. Underline each prompt in the table. 2. Open with what and when (campaign + year). 3. Add who organizes it. 4. State purpose with students / school. 5. Close with target schools and one classroom detail. 6. Re-read: every cell must appear once.

Les pièges à vérifier dans ta démarche

Do not write a free essay about diet. Do not drop the year or the organizers. Avoid copying the table as a bullet list — the task is a paragraph.

Model answer (guided paragraph)

The Healthy School Campaign was founded in 2015 by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. Its purpose is to support students' healthy food choices and to establish clear nutrition standards. The campaign targets rural primary schools, where classroom workshops help a teacher link nutrition to everyday education. In this way, learning about food becomes part of school life rather than a separate topic.

Assessment criteria (official shape — 2018 contrôle)

- Content (full and coherent use of the prompts) — 2 marks: all table items appear in a logical order (foundation → organizers → purpose → target → classroom focus).
- Language and mechanics of writing — 2 marks: accurate grammar and vocabulary; spelling, punctuation and capitalisation under control.

A full-credit paragraph is short, complete and free of contradiction with the data.

Guided writing: develop notes about a school reading programme into a paragraph

6 questionsCorrigé masquéEn cours de relecture

Writing — guided task. Develop the notes below into a short, coherent paragraph presenting Reading Buddies, a programme run in a secondary school. The notes are not sentences: put the verbs in the right tense, add the missing articles and link the ideas. Use all the notes and do not add facts that are not in them. (The programme or event and its figures are fictional, written for this exercise.)

  • Reading Buddies — programme / started / October 2023 / Hammamet secondary school
  • older students / read / with pupils of the first-year classes / twice a week / in the school library
  • aim: help weaker readers / enjoy learning / build confidence / before the end-of-year tests
  • teachers / choose the books regularly / trained the first volunteers / one afternoon / before the programme started
  • results after one year: 60 pupils / better marks in reading / library / busier than ever
  • next step: neighbouring school / copy the programme / September

Write in the past for what happened, in the present for what the programme does, and in the future for what is planned.

Sample paragraph (one acceptable answer, not the only one). Reading Buddies is a programme that started in October 2023 at a secondary school in Hammamet. Twice a week, older students read with pupils of the first-year classes in the school library. Its aim is to help weaker readers enjoy learning and to build their confidence before the end-of-year tests. The teachers choose the books regularly and trained the first volunteers in a single afternoon before the programme started. After one year, sixty pupils have better marks in reading, the library is busier than ever, and a neighbouring school will copy the programme in September.

Check that every note was used — and in which tense. Note 1 → past simple (started in October 2023), because it is a dated event. Note 2 → present simple (read … twice a week), because it describes what the programme does now. Note 3 → present (Its aim is to help… and to build…): the fragment aim: help must become a full sentence with a verb. Note 4 → present for the regular book selection (choose), past for the completed initial training (trained). Note 5 → present (have better marks, is busier than ever) or present perfect with an appropriate verb (have improved their marks); 60 may stay as a figure or be written sixty. Note 6 → future (will copy the programme in September), because next step announces a plan.

What the official grid rewards for the guided task (2017 session): Efficient use of prompts; Linguistic and mechanical accuracy. A paragraph that copies the notes as a list, drops a note or invents a detail (a prize, a number of volunteers) loses on the first line; wrong tenses, missing articles or a fragment left without a verb lose on the second. These are criteria from the cited paper, not an official mark allocation for this authored exercise.

Typical faults: Reading Buddies started since 2023 (write in 2023, or has existed since 2023); older students reads; the teachers chooses; aim: help weaker readers copied as it is; a neighbouring school copy the programme (future needed).
